Travel Photo: Kids from Mishing Tribal Village, Assam
I have been missing in blogging action for a while now. Either I have been completely off the radar or I have been playing peekaboo. Initially, it was a family emergency and lately it has been some slow travel in the North East part of India. In case you wish to know the details…I was on board Vivek Express, India’s longest train ride for 4 days covering 5,400 kms. Then spent some time in the tea gardens and tribal villages of Assam and finally, was hiking amidst the lush green living root bridges and the surrounding villages of Meghalaya. All in all, it was a monsoon holiday like none other and I am still reeling under the withdrawal symptoms. I have lots of tips, ideas, experiences and suggestions to share with you for your own holiday to the North East and right now I am processing the pictures from my trip and living those memories once again.
Do stay tuned for more updates from my recent monsoon holiday to Assam and Meghalaya as I have some amazing rural holiday and off beat ideas for Assam and Meghalaya and not to forget the experience of traveling in India's longest train ride. For the time being, enjoy this travel photo of two curious boys sitting on a traditional chang ghar (house on stilts) at Panbari, a mishing tribal village located on the fringes of Kaziranga National Park, Assam.
