Travel Photo of the Day: Mandore Cenotaphs, India
The ertswhile capital of the Marwar state of Rajasthan, Mandore today is famous for its Royal Cenotaphs. This area, which is called Mandore Gardens is home to cenotaphs that look pretty much like Hindu temples. Built using red sandstone, the dewal of Maharaja Ajit Singh is the most ornate. The hall of heroes and the shrine of 3 crore gods is also special. Some parts of Mandore Garden also has islamic architecture due to the Mughal influence in the later years.
