A lot of Asian countries have this delicacy in their culinary sciences and each one of them are special in their own sweet way, but if I had to pick one, I would pick the one from Thailand. This sweet peanut and sesame candy is served with thick rice pudding and grated coconut, making it an exotic dessert whose taste lingers in your mind for a long while.
While I have tasted different versions of it, the best one I tasted was at the Ban Krathong Yam village in South Eastern Thailand where I had been invited to by the tourism authority of Thailand. This dessert came after a hearty meal and I was kicking myself for not saving enough space in my stomach for this yummy dessert. Thankfully for me and the rest of the group, the village folks packed all of us a small bag full of this candy as take away. I am a big fan of this peanut sesame candy and of this village people. Both of them are really sweet.
