About a week back, I applied for my Cambodia e-visa for a trip that starts on Jan 15. I applied online on Cambodia government’s e-visa site, filled in the details, paid using my credit card and closed the site thinking that I will receive something in 3-4 days. But, I was I for a super surprise as I got an invoice and confirmation mail in less than 30 minutes and an approved e-visa in about 20 hours. Now, that is some super service and I was very much impressed by it.
To apply for the e-visa one needs to feed in their personal particulars to the e-visa form on the website and attached their recent passport size photograph in jpeg or png format. Then, one needs to confirm the date of arrival and the port of arrival. The e-visa allows tourists to enter both over land and at the airports. For specific details, refer the Cambodia e-visa website. Then, a payment of USD 25 needs to be made through your credit card. That is all that is needed. And the site says that you should get your visa in 3-4 working days.
The e-visa also allows you to change your port of entry and your arrival date into the country to accommodate for last minute changes. When the e-visa arrives in your inbox, it asks you to take 2 copies of your e-visa (black and white printouts allowed) for entry into Cambodia. Now, you are ready to travel to Cambodia.
Overall, it is a super simple process to get the e-visa. My friends say that it is as easy to get across the border from Thailand to Cambodia over land. And I will also share my experience with you in a week’s time when I actually get into Cambodia.
P.S. I am an Indian Passport Holder and am planning to enter Cambodia from Thailand.
Oh this is really good news for those who are passionate about travel.
