Sunset from King Rama Rock, Koh Tao
Staying on an island has its own perks. Apart from the relaxed lifestyle, the silver sands, the emerald waters and great food, you always get to see a great sight irrespective of the time of the day and even so during sunrise and sunset.
I saw one such special moment as I walking by the King Rama V rock at Laem Jor Por Ror on the southern side of Sairee beach. Apparently, in 1899, King Chulalongkorn – Rama V, visited the island and had his initials carved on a large boulder here. This place is now a place of worship and reverence for local residents and visiting Thai people.
I was very happy to see such a great sunset from such an important monument. The sun had set, but the last remaining colors formed a brilliant hue on the horizon. The boulders in the foreground gave the moment an artistic touch.
