The Maasai Mara in south west Kenya and bordering Tanzania is known for its rich wildlife and the great migration. But, apart from admiring its wild denizens, I absolutely love its simple landscape that is so pleasing to the eye. This landscape is mainly made up of savannah grasslands, small pockets of woodlands, shrubs and thorny trees.
But, one of the more classic views is when you see a lone yellow fever tree (Acacia xanthophloea) standing tall amidst the sprawling savannahs of Maasai Mara. This is one of those views that define this fiercely popular game reserve.
