Do you remember the famous movie ‘Out of Africa’ featuring Robert Redford and Meryl Streep that received 28 film awards, including 7 academy awards?
Most of this movie was shot in Kenya, mainly outside Nairobi, in Mombasa and the Rift Valley. A couple of scenes from the movie were shot deep in the Lake Nakuru National Park and at an altitude from where one can get an aerial view of the entire lake. These scenes were so popular that this location inside the national park is called ‘Out of Africa’.
The place, which requires a 4WD to complete the final climb is a great family picnic spot with benches and restrooms. During the daytime, only the birds give company, but once the sun sets, this place is frequented by all the animals, mostly the cape buffalo. Nevertheless, it is certainly a place to give you one of the best African views and an ‘Out of Africa’ experience!!
Stunning photographs.
