Yala National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in South East Sri Lanka, like most of the Indian forests is a great place to spot the bee eater species of birds. I had a great time spotting this green bee eater and many other birds including others of the same species.
Below are some of the shots that I took of this very pretty and colourful bird.
nice shots!!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful shots - very sharp and colorful
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandeep! Good to see you commenting on my blog :-)
ReplyDeleteNice shots and what is interesting for me is that it looks almost the same as the bird I photographed in Central Australia in July 2003. Using the name of your bird as a lead, I was able to establish by searching on the Internet that mine is the Rainbow Bee-eater.
ReplyDeleteha ha! We don't have Rainbow bee eaters in India, but I looked it up online and it looks like a very colourful and pretty bird. Very apt name it has.
ReplyDeleteAmazing colors , This is my favourite bird along with roller , since these are easily spotted always ready for pose . Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteRight and as colourful as the Indian roller too. Very pretty and good posers, like you said.
