Nameri National Park is a great place for birding in India. But, apart from birding, one can also spot some very rare and pretty mammals. It was here that I saw the Malayan Giant Squirrel with a thick brown coat and a very inquisitive look. The Malayan giant squirrel is famous for its giant leaps across trees and for its extremely long and bushy tail.
Here are pictures of the Malayan Giant Squirrel that I spotted during my umpteen trekking trips into the Nameri jungles. You will notice that some of these pictures have ‘camera shake’ in them and it is for this very reason that I have promised myself to carry my tripod to all wildlife photography sessions.
