Kannada Movie (Sandalwood) Shooting at Palolem Beach, South Goa
It was a fine evening and I was enjoying the gentle sea breeze while walking on the soft sands of Palolem Beach in South Goa. Suddenly, my attention got diverted to a huge crowd dazzling in powerful lights about 200 metres from me. I was under the assumption that it was some kind of a dance show or live band show organized by one of the many hotels and/or clubs that exist on Palolem Beach.
But, on closer look, I was excited to see that this was actually a movie shooting session. As I weaved my way through the crowd, I figured that this was a dance session for a Kannada movie. There was one guy dressed macho, who I guessed was the main actor and a pretty girl dressed in short skirt, who I guessed was playing the lead actress role.
One motley coloured individual was giving them instructions and I guessed this guy was the choreographer. Apart from these three, there were other dance artists, supporting artists and crew. The film troop had also invited foreign tourists to take part in this dance sequence.
The entire place was setup within a makeshift tent whose ceiling was hundreds of golden bulbs. Even the song seemed to have a catchy tune. It was interesting to see this shooting for a while, though when you are in Goa, you would prefer to enjoy the beaches more than movie shooting and thus I continued with my beach walk.
Would any of you Kannada movie lovers know the name of the actor, actress and/or choreographer. The actor and actresses looked kind of young and hence were beyond the reach of my basic Kannada film knowledge.
Here are some more photos that I took of this movie shooting session.
