The temperatures were close to freezing when I visited Nathu La Pass in East Sikkim a couple of weeks back. And all this at lunch hour. After all, we were at above 14,140 feet.
Nathula Pass is a mountain pass in the Himalayas that forms the Indo-China border. It is also a part of the historic Silk route.
After spending close to 30 minutes out in the cold, all of us headed towards a cafe to warm ourselves up with a hot cup of coffee. And only when I got closer to this cafe did I figure out its outside is frozen making for a brilliant view.
