Don’t Service your Motorcycle at this Royal Enfield Service Station

Yesterday, I was treated to some very shoddy service at HSR Service Station, KR Road, Banashankari 2nd Stage, Bangalore, India. Generally, while giving vehicles for service, people put in all their issues and complaints and while collecting the vehicle, they collect a well serviced vehicle. But, in my case it worked slightly different. I gave my bike in running condition for periodic service, but while receiving the motorcycle, I got it in pathetic running condition.

The service folks said that my front wheel bearings were good and had been checked, but 200 kilometres from the service station and on the highway, the front wheel bearings broke into pieces. And all this when the front wheel bearings were fairly new, but that falls under a different purview of manufacturing defects.

Then, I had no front brake or disc problems when I delivered my bike for service. But, when I received the bike, I found a lot of front brake problems and the disc plate was bent. This led to more anxiety and worry for me as I was travelling on this very problem ridden bike away from the city.

And the best part is when I get back to the city and show this to the service station, they say that there is no problem with the bike and expect me to believe whatever they say. And when I say that I have trouble with the front wheel, then they say that ‘I better get used to it’.

As a thumb rule, I have had issues with the Royal Enfield Service 1 out of 3 times. But, most of the times, the service station personnel have taken care to fix the issues. At other times, they were out of inventory. But, this is my worst experience. My motorcycle has been serviced in nearly every state in the country and I have never found such a disgrace for the word ‘service’. I sincerely hope ‘Royal Enfield’ doesn’t forget to maintain the quality and scale of their service operations while working on a mad rush to meet the heightened demand of their motorcycles in the market.

  1. I have had trouble with Enfield service as well. Not that they spoiled my bike, but they did not appear very good at their job. They did not do much to the rattle in the bike despite my telling them.

  2. Hmmm...A lot of folks that I know say this...Lets hope Royal Enfield takes care of their customers else they will fast lose their credibility in the market.
