A Secular Front!!

A short while back, I was eagerly exploring Charminar, the most famous monument of Hyderabad. It was during this visit that I noticed a Hindu Temple situated at one side of the Charminar.

First, I was surprised to see this Hindu Bhagyashree temple share its property with a Islamic monument, but on second thought, I felt happy on seeing this. This is what secularism means and one can’t get a better example.

  1. Looks like a wayside shrine. I never observed this in my many encounters with Charminar.

  2. Initially, I thought it to be a way side shrine too. But, upon closer look and on talking with the locals, I found out that this shrine has existed for hundred of years along with charminar and that the temple 'main sannadhi' or inner shrine shares the property with one of the pillars of Charminar.
