It was a lovely late afternoon and I was staring at the Andaman Sea from my hotel room at Hut Bay in Little Andaman.
The entire place was covered in coconut trees and the far view was that of the blue Andaman sea glimmering in the bright sunshine.
As I was admiring the view, I noticed a group of fishermen playing a game of cards. It looked like this was their way of relaxing before setting sails for their evening fishing trips.
You could see small boats everywhere near their houses, which looked like makeshift asbestos sheet houses. It is unfortunate that these people do not have a permanent place for shelter. May be, they used to have something before the tsunami struck this area or may be they keep moving from place to place.
A 20 minute stare into this fisherman village was definitely an eye-opening experience for me.
