Vishakhapatnam is blessed with a very long beach line and some time back the government of Andhra Pradesh recognized this natural treasure and built a 40 kilometre long marine drive.
A lot of tourist attractions are located close to this marine drive. Some of them are Submarine Museum, Victory at Sea, Kailashgiri, Ramakrishna Beach, Rishikonda Beach, Borra Caves, and Dolphin’s Nose.
I was lucky to have visited most of them. But, overall, I was extremely surprised and happy to see such a long marine drive in a city. Do you know any other city in India that has such a long or longer marine drive?

I loved my visit to Vizag in 2008. It was much greener than I expected and surrounding forrest is way more dense. We stayed at AP Tourism cottage at Rishikonda. We missed going up Kailashagiri. One of the unexpected delights was the visit to fish market on a pier. The variety there was simply stunning. Marina drive is so well maintained.
ReplyDeleteRight! Vizag is so very green and nice. Just the humidity can be a bit too much sometimes :-)
