This is the true centre of India and it happens to be at Nagpur in the state of Maharashtra in India.
The place is called the ‘Zero Mile Marker’ and it indicates the geographical centre of India. Located in the bustling city centre, this place is often taken for granted. But, it is this place that was used as a guide line in calculating travel distances and other related measurements in the yester years.
Nagpur has a museum. Can someone update me about its present status and why it is closed.renukaestate3@gmail.com
ReplyDelete0 Mile Stone in Nagpur is not the Center of the country as many people think. it is a point used buy the Britishers as reference point when they started Surveying the country.
ReplyDeleteRenukaji,
ReplyDeleteCentral Museum in Nagpur also known as Ajayab Ghar or Ajab Bangla is the oldest museum of Central India with rich collections. It was closed earlier for renovation. Now it is opened with few new galleries including the one on History of Nagpur. it is closed on one day in a week. I am not sure on which day.
