Hermit Crabs have a field day at Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park’s Jolly Buoy Island

Jolly Buoy Island of the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park houses the perfect ecosystem for hermit crabs and other other tidal pool marine creatures.

All you need to do is walk along the beach to find scores of such hermit crabs living in sea shells of various sizes, shapes and colours.

On hardly finds a single hermit crab in other beaches across India and to see them in such rich numbers is a very pleasant sight. These good numbers speak of the great environmental health of this marine national park.

I guess due credit should go to the national park authorities for allowing marine creatures to live comfortably in their home and have every day as a field day.
