Ferar Beach – Tucked in Solitude

A beach destination without the crowd or the facilities, but one that completes the solitary reaper’s day...

That is how I would describe Ferar Beach that is tucked away at one corner of ROSS Island in the Andamans. Since there is not a soul in sight, one can enjoy this beach thoroughly.

This slightly rocky beach is set against the cliff and the gravity defying coconut trees on one side and the emerald waters of the Bay of Bengal on the other.

There is zilch tourist infrastructure available here as this beach falls under the purview of the ROSS Island National Park. But, if one were to pack themselves some lunch and water, a book and a towel/hammock, then this place will ensure that all your beach needs are met.

A swim in the rich coral waters or playing hide and seek with the sea shells is a good possibility here.

Since there is so much shade present on the beach that there is hardly any need for any sun protection cream or gear.

In summary, this is a beach that offers loads of tranquility, but watch out for the under water currents if you intend to venture far away from the beach.
