Scuba Diving and Snorkelling in the waters off Kadmat Island, Lakshadweep Islands, India
The time had arrived for our mid morning scuba dive and snorkelling session off the waters of Kadmat Island.
The group assisting us with the dive were Lacadives, a well reputed scuba diving outfit based out of Mumbai and with shops at Kadmat and Bangaram islands of Lakshadweep and Havelock Island of the Andamans.
Since, there was only one dive instructor available, my friend, who is a dive master himself, readied himself for the dive. While, I, the amateur scuba diver, got myself a snorkel, a face mask and some fins to explore the pristine waters from the surface.
So, off we went in a small boat that was loaded with all the equipment. While my friend spent his time 30m below the water, I spent my time enjoying the amazingly clear waters from the surface.
The highlight of my one hour snorkelling session was an extremely large group (say 1000 fishes or more approx.) of blue fishes (called fisheries) that came extremely close to my nose. Apart from the fisheries, I could see loads of colourful fishes and corals of all sizes.
This experience was so rich that I have vowed to get myself underwater photography gear and explore these rich waters at leisure.
