A Walk through the Kailashgiri Temple Campus at Vishakhapatnam

Kailashgiri is a peak on the Eastern Ghats and about 15 kilometres from the heart of Vishakhapatnam city.

Kailashgiri Temple
This peak facing the Bay of Bengal is situated just 5 kilometres from the marine drive. One can get excellent views of Vizag city and its long beach line from here.

Shiva-Parvathi at Kailashgiri
Apart from its pristine natural setting, Kailashgiri is also the seat of a pretty large temple. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi and huge statues of these 2 gods have been erected right at the top of the hill.

Radar tower on top of Kailashgiri
Beautifully paved paths and manicured gardens adorn the perimeter of this temple. The area on the top is huge and a lot of view towers have been setup to allow tourists relax and admire the stunning views.

Tourist Train that gives a Kailashgiri Tour
This place is very popular with local families for a great picnic spot. A narrow gauge toy train lookalike that gives the tourists a hill roundabout trip is also popular with the visitors.
