The Oldest Lighthouse of Havelock Island
A 30 minute dunghee motor boat ride from the Havelock Island main dock takes one to the oldest lighthouse of Havelock Island. This place is known for its pristine surroundings and for its amazing coral reefs.
Locals and the scuba diving committee refer to this place as the ‘Lighthouse’. The lighthouse functions well even today in spite of it being extremely old. This place is very special to me as it was here that I went on my first deep dive.
Lots of tourists come to this place to admire the coral reefs and its marine life through a glass boat. The tourists who are a little bit adventurous take to the water and enjoy nature’s beauty here by either snorkelling on the surface or by scuba diving into the deep waters.
This is truly a very special place. Unfortunately at that time, I didn’t have any underwater photography equipment and hence no photographs to depict the colourful world below the surface here.
